Study Abroad provides students opportunities that they cannot find at home, including first-hand experiences with foreign languages/cultures and exposure to international business practices – to name just a few. It also facilitates linkages and collaborations, including student and faculty exchanges, joint/collaborative research opportunities, and the development of international training and other academic outreach activities. Studying abroad allows students to take courses for ISU credit and can cost less than studying at ISU, allowing students to study around the world without delaying their graduation or costing them more.
The National Student Exchange (NSE) program currently links nearly 200 North American universities and colleges, including many historically black, Latino/a, and Native colleges and universities. The NSE program allows students to attend a member university for up to two semesters while earning credit toward their home school’s degree program, and NSE students only have to pay either ISU's in-state tuition, or their host school's in-state tuition.
