Most international students at Illinois State can be divided into two immigration categories: those who have the F-1 Visa or the J-1 Visa.
F-1 students will receive a Form I-20 is mailed by the Office of Admissions when you are admitted to the University. J-1 students will receive a Form DS-2019 mailed from the Office of International Studies and Programs. Students will need their document throughout the immigration process, including when entering the United States.
All international students who have been admitted to Illinois State University should complete the Intent to Enroll form. Please complete the form even if you have decided not to attend or if you have deferred your attendance to a future semester. The form will ask to you indicate all of this information.
