Life at Illinois State

Illinois State University is located in the town of Normal, Illinois. Nearby is the sister-city of Bloomington, so the larger community is often referred to as Bloomington-Normal.

The Bloomington-Normal community is comprised of the City of Bloomington (population 77,071) and the Town of Normal (population 52,772).

Bloomington-Normal is 125 miles southwest of Chicago, 155 miles northeast of St. Louis, and 64 miles northeast of Springfield (the state capital).

State Farm and COUNTRY Financial are both headquartered in Bloomington-Normal.
